Module 2: Introduction to Programming

Apply encompasses our lab exercises for today, Feb. 4, 1998.

We have a first update based on last Wednesday's lab. From a Unix Window, issue the command

pine
and see that pine will prompt you to build environment it needs. I'll walk around lab and make sure this goes smoothly for everyone, since you may have already taken other peoples' advice on how to set pine up.

  1. Step one.
Use the MATLAB help command to sample it's interactive capabilities.
    clear
    help input
    help disp
    fprintf
    Low Level Formatting summary
  2. Step two.
Start to design your own input/output commands and think about choosing the appropriate commands to help you accomplish the first programming assignment.
  3. Step three.
Revisit the first programming assignment. Note, this has been updated from the paper handed out in class on Monday due to misuse of the word prompt instead of input
